Bound beyond skin aims to educate to alternative sexuality and change the current heteronormative expectations, promoting the recognition of sexuality in its countless forms of expression as a natural and healthy part of the human experience, emphasising the importance of personal sovereignty, sane, safe and consensual sex practices. The work covers every aspect of sexual identity including gender expression, orientation, relationship to the body, relationship-style choice, reproductive rights, and anything else society has lumped under the umbrella. Bound Beyond Skin advocates for comprehensive sex education and safe sex and, as part of its agenda, it makes no moral distinctions among types of sexual activities, regarding these choices as matters of personal preference.
The following photographs represent an example of the corporeal and emotional response to erotic rope bondage inspired by Japanese Kimbaku which literally means ‘’the beauty of tight binding’’. Its protagonists are captured in deeply intimate moments of love, experiencing the ecstasy of pain and pleasure.
Below is en excerpt from an interview with _Lawbringer_ 31 year old, pansexual polyamory, dom, rope swicth.
” The weight of heteronormative standards in our society led us to believe that there is only one right way to express our sexuality. This ideology isn’t only false, but erases the existence of a large number of individuals that experience sexuality in a variety of ways. By not recognising them as valid, it generates expectations that result in unhappy exposure to sex, especially for those who feel different from the norm. ”
