Valentina Gaia Lops es una artista e investigadora Queer actualmente residente en Barcelona. Su práctica se centra en el arte relacional, el diseño y la facilitación de espacios artísticos multidisciplinarios. Además, imparte formación en curaduría y mediación artística. A través de una metodología disidente e inclusiva, fusiona diversas formas de expresión, destacando las artes visuales, del movimiento, la performance y la acción social con un enfoque especial en la fotografia, entendida como un dispositivo afectivo-relacional en grado de construir artefactos de potencia especulativa, poética y política.

Su trabajo se distingue por una identidad fluida, multifacética y alejada de categorías rigidas y binarias. En constante transformación, está estrechamente vinculado al territorio y a las comunidades con las que interactúa, permitiéndole trabajar de manera situada y expandida, colectivizando saberes y experiencias desde una perspectiva transfeminista, inter-eco-dependiente y no hegemónica.

A través de la creación de espacios de co-creación arraigados en la escucha activa, su labor abarca una amplia variedad de contextos, sumergiéndose en dinámicas artísticas y pedagógicas intergeneracionales que se expanden mas allá de la exhibición, poniendo el foco en lo afectivo y lo poético-político del proceso artístico.

Actualmente, Valentina es artista residente en L’Estruch (centro de creación de artes vivas en Sabadell), en el centro de investigación artística y educativa EART, en el Instituto Puigvert (dentro del programa EnResidencia impulsado por el Instituto de Cultura de Barcelona) en el Centro Cívico Can Verdaguer y en el Centro Cívico Surtidor en el marco de la Residencia Balandra en colaboración con el Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, El Mecat de Les Flors y el Teatre dau al Sec.

Valentina Gaia Lops is a Queer artist and researcher currently living in Barcelona. Their practice focuses on relational art, mediation, curation and the facilitation of multidisciplinary spaces of collective creation. Additionally, they provide training in curation and artistic mediation. Through a queer and inclusive methodology, they merge various forms of expression, emphasizing visual arts, movement, performance, and social action.

Their work is distinguished by a fluid, multifaceted identity that strays from binary and traditional norms. In constant transformation, it is closely tied to the territory and the communities they engage with, allowing them to work in a situated and expanded manner, collectivizing the sharing of knowledge and experiences from a transfeminist, inter-eco-dependent, and non-hegemonic perspective. Through the creation of spaces rooted in active listening, her work spans a wide range of contexts, delving into intergenerational and transdisciplinary artistic and pedagogical dynamics that extend beyond exhibition, focusing on the affective and poetic-political aspects of the artistic process.

Currently, Valentina is an artist in residence at L’Estruch (a center for the creation of living arts in Sabadell), at the artistic and educational research center EART, as well as at the Puigvert Institute, within the EnResidencia program promoted by the Barcelona Institute of Culture, and at the Can Verdaguer Civic Center.
